If you are thinking it might be fun to live in a cooperative, you're right!

If you are thinking it might sometimes be weird or stressful living with all those people, you're right!

Membershipping Update
|
How Membershipping WorksIt's always a good idea to meet people before you decide to live with them. So, we ask prospective members to come to three dinners to meet us (and so that we may meet you, of course). When you come to Rivendell for the first time, we'll show you around the building and try to get to know you a bit. We'll grill you with challenging questions like: "If you were to have a super power, what would it be?" and "How do you plan to earn money to pay your rent?" At some point in the process we'll ask you to fill out a membership survey with even more "get to know you questions." If, after meeting everyone, you are still interested in living with us, then we will take a formal vote. Here is a copy of the voting survey used in the membership process. It's use is defined in the Bylaws located on the Legal page. If all goes well, you're in! We'll then ask you to sign a membership contract, which is really our form of a lease, which typically runs from August to August. Want an idea of what it's like to live at Rivendell? An overview of the place? A boring history with the corporate bylaws? Or perhaps you'd like to see who lives at Rivendell now, or who has lived here in the past? Plus there's parking. Need directions? Here's a map... or try this one. If this appeals to you, then get in touch with us. The house phone is 608/255.8588. Or maybe it's easier to email us: info (at) rivendellcoop.org |
