An incomplete but detailed financial/legal history of 622 N. Henry Street

1904: construction on building completed

Aug 1965: Sigma Alpha Mu (SAM) receives a $45,500 mortgage on 622 N. Henry Street
property (henceforth "622") from Anchor Savings and Loan

Sept 1965: SAM receives additional $4,500 mortgage on 622 from one Melvin
Cohen.

July 1971: Institute for Mundane Studies (IMS) files incorporation papers

Aug 1971: Wisconsin Student Housing Development Corporation (WSHDC) files incorporation papers

June 1972: SAM sells 622 to WSHDC

June 1972: WSHDC receives $35,200 mortgage on 622 from First Federal
Savings and Loan

June 1972: SAM pays off loans from Aug and Sept 1965.

June 1972: SAM loans WSHDC $3,000 in the form of a second mortgage on 622.

June 1972: WSHDC sells 622 -- via a land contract -- to the IMS for $45,000
($6,500 dollars down, balance of $38,500).

May 1973: Articles of Incorporation of WSHDC amended to:
      (1) change the first four articles
      (2) change the name of the corporation to Central Madison Housing
      Corporation (CMHC)

Jan 1974: CMHC files "Certificate of newly changed officers."
Principleofficers are now James DeLisle, K. Edward Atwood, and Mark E.
Musolf.

April 1975: Group of people at 225 Lakelawn Place files incorporation
papers for Toad Lane Cooperative and moves into 622. CMHC elects new board 
from among 622 residents.

Aug 1975: IMS still owns 622. Toad Lane group is now principle officers of 
IMS and files "Certificate of newly changed officers" (the former
residents and officers apparently having lost interest and vanished).

Nov 1975: IMS (now Toad Lane people) gives 622 to Madison Association of
Student Cooperatives (a.k.a. Madison Community Cooperatives MCC) via
assignment of the land contract (see June 1972). CMHC and MCC also sign
amendment to the same.

Aug 1976: MCC gives 622 to CMHC (not back to IMS). Toad Lane people are
CMHC officers as per April 1975 above.

June 1977: Rivendell Cooperative Housing Corporation files incorporation
papers.

July 1977: CMHC leases 622 to Rivendell for one year (9/1/77-9/1/78)
together with an agreement to transfer the property to Rivendell on 9/1/78.

Sept 1978: Transfer of 622 to Rivendell.
